Dr William A Olivos
William was born and raised in Lima, Peru.
He attended the State University of New York at Buffalo to learn English after which he studied biology at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Visual Sciences as well as a degree of Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry from where he graduated in 1995.
William relocated to Peru from 1995 to 1999 to practice Optometry and became a professor at the Universidad Villarreal in Lima, Peru.
In February 1999 he returned to the US with his wife and 3 daughters and settled in Port St Lucie where he established his private 2-office-practice, Advanced Eye Care Center.
He and his wife Susan have organized eye care mission trips to Peru since 2004. In 2018 they began eye care missions in the Dominican Republic as well.
William and Susan founded the Olive Tree Foundation for Education which has provided more than 150 scholarships for economically disadvantaged students in Peru since 2004.
He is an active member of Rotary International since 2002, first in Okeechobee and then in the club in Port St Lucie, Florida.
He has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1995.
He has been a member of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine since 2012.
When William is not busy at his offices, you can usually find him training and riding his beautiful Fresian mare, Reyna.
